Wellsford Skate Park Opening

Pro skaters and BMX riders will be on hand when the Rodney Local Board opens a new skate park and playground. There will be demonstrations, BMX acrobatics, skateboarding tuition, stunts with high and low drops and a mobile jump ramp. Also some equipment such as skateboard pads and helmets that can be borrowed.

Women In Politics Event

Join Epsom Girls Grammar School for their Women in New Zealand Politics event to be held at the Raye Freedman Arts Centre. Special guest speakers Chlöe Swarbrick, current Green Party MP; Jeanette Fitzsimons, former co-leader of the Green Party; and Tessa Berger, Auckland Council Elected Member and entrepreneur – all EGGS alumnae - will talk openly about their journey as women in politics. The engaging panel discussion will be facilitated by expert MC Rawdon Christie, award-winning broadcaster and journalist. Come along to a thought-provoking and inspiring evening!

As a Rodney Local Board candidate, I will be introducing myself and speaking about my campaign as well as taking questions from the floor. The event then moves to the candidates for Councillor.

A Local Conversation

I would personally like to invite all Mahurangi West locals to join me at the Mahurangi West Hall, in discussing projects and issues relevant to our neck of the woods. The layout of the evening will involve an introduction and an informal Q&A session. The night is bound to be an entertaining one, with a good crowd to be expected - standing room only. Light refreshments will be provided, with tea and coffee to be served from 8pm.

Snells Beach Meet the Candidates

The Snells Beach RRAss are holding a "Meet the Candidates " forum in the Snells Beach Community Center. They are are hosting this in conjunction with other local Ratepayer groups. Tessa along with the other candidates present will have the opportunity to speak to those in attendance. Short speeches will be followed by a managed question time and further followed by a "meet and greet" supper.

Omaha Beach Committee

The Omaha Beach Committee is hosting a "meet the candidates" night on Wednesday 14th September, and would like to invite residents of Omaha, Point Wells, and Matakana to come along to the event at the Omaha Beach Golf Club. As a Rodney Local Board candidate, I will be introducing myself and speaking a little about why I'm standing. The event then moves to the candidates for Councillor, where they will battle it out in an Oxford style debate, followed by an intro and Q&A session with Vic Crone. The night is bound to be an entertaining one, with a good crowd to be expected. Canapes will be served from 7pm, with a 7.10pm start.
